Butcher to run virtual Boston Marathon at Lake of the Woods Saturday

Debbie Butcher and her sons, John and Brian will run a virtual Boston Marathon on Sept. 12 beginning a 7 a.m.

Because the Boston Marathon was canceled in 2020, runners have been invited to run it virtually. The Butcher trio has mapped out a 6-mile route, and will cross through the the Lake of the Woods Botanical Gardens four times.

John and Brian are expected to finish in 3 hours with Debbie to follow around the 4-hour mark.

Spectators with masks, practicing social distancing are welcome to cheer the runners on.
