Bulldogs look to break losing streak

The short-handed Bulldogs were held to their lowest point total of the season on Monday (March 8) and dropped an Apollo Conference decision at Teutopolis, 52-29.

Cayla Koerner scored 10 points, Durbin Thomas had five points and Caitlin Thomason contributed four points for the Bulldogs.

Alayna DeWitt made the team’s only three-point shot.

Teutopolis led, 12-7, after one quarter and 30-11 at halftime.

The M-S rebounding leaders – with five apiece – were Emma Clements, Sydney Esker and Thomason.

The Bulldogs have played their last two games without scoring leader Savannah Orgeron and rebounding leader Nichole Taylor.

M-S is 7-7 overall and 7-6 in Apollo Conference contests. The team will close its season at home on Thursday (March 11) against Charleston, seeking to snap a three-game losing streak.
