Mahomet-Seymour’s Mateo Casillas improved his record to 26-1 as he earned the title of champion at 195-lb in the 60th Red Schmitt Wrestling Tournament at Granite City.
Casillas pinned his first three opponents, then earned a pair of major decisions before holding his opponents scoreless in the semifinals and finals.
Casillas won, 6-0, in the semis and 4-0 in the finals
The wins extended his 15 consecutive-match win streak. Casillas also went undefeated at the Tyler Cox Dual-Meet Memorial Tournament at Chatham Glenwood.
The only loss Casillas has endured was in Sidney, Mont. earlier this season. He also won 8 matches in that tournament.
