Early primary voting begins May 19

Early voting will begin May 19 at the Brookens Admin Building in Champaign County. 

 “While I am strongly encouraging voters to utilize vote by mail, I’m also giving voters

 plenty of options to vote early/in-person”, said Champaign County Clerk and Recorder, Aaron Ammons said in a press release.

The Clerk will also send out mail-in ballots on May 19. Voters who have already signed up for the permanent vote by mail list and voters who have made their request to vote by mail in the primary election can expect to receive their ballots May 23- May 27.  

Any vote by mail ballot requests made after May 19th, are processed and mailed within 2 days. Votes cast by mail or at an early voting location are final and may not be revoked, the voter is not eligible to cast additional votes on Election Day.  

Mail-in ballots can be returned at in post office mailbox, in one of the secure drop boxes throughout the Champaign County:

  • Brookens Administration Building, 1776 E Washington St, Urbana, in the circle drive
  • Champaign Public Library, 200 W Green, Champaign
  • Champaign Public Library-Douglass Branch, 504 E Grove, Champaign
  • Champaign-Urbana Public Health District, 201 W Kenyon Rd
  • Illini Union, 1401 W Green St, southeast corner inside the Union, accessible by foot only
  • Mahomet Public Library, 1702 E Oak St, Mahomet Parkland at Mattis, 1315 N Mattis Ave, Champaign Rantoul Village Hall, 333 S Tanner, Rantoul
  • Savoy Recreation Center, 402 Graham Dr, Savoy
