Petitions for local boards due Dec. 12-19

Petitions for candidates interested in running for one of several Mahomet-area boards in the 2023 municipal election are due between Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, 2022. 

Candidates filing for the Village of Mahomet Board must return their packets to the Village Administration building located at 503 E Main St. in Mahomet. Candidates filing for the Sangamon Valley Public Water District Board must return their packets to the District office located at 709 N Prairie View Rd. in Mahomet.

All other candidates to file for candidacy with the Mahomet-Seymour School Board, Mahomet Public Library or Cornbelt Fire Protection District should return their packets to the Champaign County Clerk’s office located at 1776 East Washington St. in Urbana.

The following seats are up for election:

Cornbelt Fire Department: 2 seats

Mahomet Public Library: 3 seats

Mahomet-Seymour School District: 4 seats (2 in-township, 2 out-of-township)

Sangamon Valley Public Water District: 7 seats

Village of Mahomet: 4 seats
