Mahomet-Seymour’s Cayla Koerner has helped the girls’ basketball team go undefeated in their first seven games of the 2021-22 season.
Last night, Koerner contributed 9 points, 5 steals, and 3 rebounds in the decisive 78-19 win over Mount Zion.
Prior to a 10-day rest over the holiday, Koerner was named the Most Valuable Player at the Prairie Central Hawk Tournament where she amassed 68 points, 29 steals, and six rebounds over three games. The Bulldogs defeated Prairie Central, 47-24 Pontiac, 53-26, and Eureka, 69-54.
Against Prairie Central, Koerner had a team-high 13 points.
The 5’6” senior leads the team with 11 3-pointers and 12.4 points per game.
