Bulldogs rally in fourth quarter to defeat Effingham

Mahomet-Seymour used a 22-12 fourth-quarter spurt on Saturday (Feb. 5) to grab an Apollo Conference boys’ basketball victory at Effingham.

The Bulldogs prevailed, 54-41, after carrying a 32-29 lead into the final period.

Blake Wolters led M-S with 18 points and six rebounds.

Wyatt Bohm scored nine points and handled four rebounds. Quenton Rogers put up eight points, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

Luke Koller contributed seven points and five rebounds. Also securing five rebounds was Carter Selk. Selk and Dayten Eisenmann each handed out three assists.

M-S (12-12) returns to action on Tuesday (Feb. 8) at Urbana. That game will be the first of four for the Bulldogs in a five-day stretch.
