Pickleball closed at Bridle Leash Park after vandalism incidents

Following a few incidents of vandalism at Bridle Leash Park, the Mahomet Parks and Recreation Department has been compelled to halt all pickleball activities.

Just as Mahomet residents began to enjoy access to the highly popular game, several pieces of equipment, including the pickleball net and paddle lock, were deliberately damaged. Local authorities have since taken down all nets to prevent further harm to the park’s amenities.

Bridle Park was not the only location affected by such negative behavior. At Barber Park, two umbrellas near the splash pad were also snapped.

In the upcoming months, Mahomet residents should regain access to pickleball courts at the new Middletown tennis facility. Half of the courts there will be lined for pickleball.
