New bar and grill opens in familiar location

There’s a new place for food, drinks and fun in Mahomet and it occupies a familiar location. It’ll Do, Bar and Grill opened for business on Tuesday, Sept. 1 in the location that once housed Uncle Bucks Sports Bar, 215 S. Lake of the Woods Rd., Mahomet.

Owner Marvin Meadows said of the nine It’ll Do locations he has opened up throughout Central Illinois, the reception he has been given in Mahomet is the most welcoming. “It’s been the best response,” he said. “Very warm.”

General Manager, Angela Alwardt, said the It’ll Do’s atmosphere is “Laid back and fun.” And they cater to all walks of life, golfers, soccer moms, bikers. Even kids are welcome to come in and eat as long as they are with their parents.

It’ll Do offers a daily $5 lunch special, Monday through Friday, and daily drink specials.

Alwardt said she thinks the cheeseburger is a highlight on their grill menu since it is made with 100 percent ground steak.  “The grill is open the same hours as the bar,” she added.

The business also features an outdoor seating area and a tribute to veterans on the wall.

“I’m retired Air Force,” Meadows said, adding “There is a tribute to veterans hanging on the wall of all my locations.” He invites veterans to sign their name on the wall next to an image of the American Flag.

Eventually Meadows said he may add live music as a special event or for a benefit. He also has a pending video gaming license. “We’re waiting on the State,” he noted.

Meadows said he currently owns It’ll Do locations in Tuscola and Arthur. Other locations are rented out to other operators, and his daughter runs another location.

It’ll Do’s site manager is Brandon Gibson. Daily food and drink specials are posted on line at www. Itlldo2.net, or on Facebook at It’ll Do Bar and Grill.  Food specials include Italian Beef, Meatball Sandwiches and Country Fried Steak.

The business will employ between 7 and 12 people, Meadows said he anticipates.

Currently, hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 11 a.m.-1a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; and noon-10 p.m. on Sundays.
