Mattoon outlasts Mahomet-Seymour baseball

The Bulldogs had one comeback – but not two – in Tuesday’s Apollo Conference home baseball game against Mattoon.

Down 8-0 after 1 ½ innings, M-S pulled into an 8-8 tie before the visiting Green Wave put up seven runs in the sixth inning en route to a 15-9 triumph.

Blake Wolters was 4-for-4 for the Bulldogs, including a solo home run.

Wolters, Zac Carr and Carter Selk each scored two runs for M-S. Brayden Smith drove in two runs.

M-S (7-5) returns to action on Thursday (May 13) at Oakwood.
