Cayla Koerner notched a hat trick and Nyah Biegler added two goals on Tuesday (May 25) on Senior Night as Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ soccer team clinched the outright Apollo Conference crown with a rain-shortened 5-0 triumph at home.
The second half, between opponents that could face one another again next week in the regional, was canceled by rain.
Koerner collected two assists. Delaney King and Lauren Schnepper each totaled one assist.
The M-S seniors are Biegler, Maddison Claybrooke, Lydia Gleason, Elise Hertling, Kelsey Jacobs and Delaney Smith.
M-S (13-2 overall) is 9-0 in Apollo Conference contests and has outscored its league foes by a 73-3 margin. The Bulldogs will close the regular season Thursday (May 27) at Mattoon and will try to conclude an unblemished Apollo schedule.
