Mahomet-Seymour Chess places 3rd at Illini Classic

The Mahomet-Seymour Chess team took third place out of 24 teams in the virtual Illini Classic on Saturday.

Finishing 3-1, the Bulldogs improve to 18-5 on the season.

Tony Huang placed fifth amoung 24 players on Board 1. He did not lose any matches. Dalen Elliott also did not lose any matches, finishing second among Board 2.

Other notable finishes include Jonah Singer ad Board 3 placing 17th; Sebastian Chamorro finishing sixth among Board 4s and Dylan Gobble took 16th among Board 5s.

In the Open Division Andrew Robinson placed seventh, Clayton Kessler took tenth and Nate Lundstrom took 20th among 53 players.
