IL-150/Lake of the Woods Road construction to begin March 15

Mayfield Construction will begin a construction project beginning Monday, March 15, 2021 that will affect traffic at the Rt. 150/Oak Street and Lake of the Woods Road intersection. The project will end by Friday, March 19, 2021, weather permitting. 

The construction project will include replacing a sewer line under Rt.150/Oak Street on the east side of the Lake of the Woods Rd intersection. Traffic on Rt. 150/Oak Street will be reduced to one lane so you will experience delays.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. on March 15, the traffic signal will be put in all-way stop, flashing red mode for the duration of the project.  The Intersection will act as a 4-way stop. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

Traffic turning left from Lake of the Woods Road onto Rt.150/Oak Street will be delayed, causing potential backups for right turning and through traffic also. Traffic from the Solace Development will also be affected by delays.

Work hours are expected to be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (possibly longer). Outside of work hours, Oak Street will be reopened with possible steel plates covering the excavation of Oak Street.

Please slow down and use caution within the construction zones, be respectful of the flaggers, be careful of traffic control items in or near the road, and seek alternate routes if possible.  Thank you for your cooperation.
