Ferdinand continues education to understand new healthcare laws, helps make Mahomet Insurance Center a one-stop shop

Understanding new healthcare laws, policies and options set forth by the Affordable Healthcare Act may be daunting to some. But for Mahomet Insurance Centre Owner Lyn Ferdinand, the process of understanding the healthcare marketplace is another way she can serve the growing Mahomet community.

Over the last decade, Ferdinand and co-owner Randy Clark have joined forces to meet the needs of a growing community. Clark of “The Clark Insurance Agency of Mahomet” and Ferdinand of “The Lewis Insurance Store of Mahomet” put their talents together in 2002 to establish the Mahomet Insurance Centre, Inc.

Now the Mahomet Insurance Centre offers a wide variety of products, making it a one-stop shop for family and business insurance. The group, which also includes CSA Evelyn Brewer and CISR Sandy Williams, can provide home, auto, commercial, life, annuities, group and senior insurance at an affordable rate to their clients. Ferdinand is also certified to sell health insurance during the 2015 open market dates which run from November 15 to February 15.

Ferdinand was recently honored by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) for her continued commitment of education through the CIC program for 20 years.

“The high standard maintained by Lyn Ferdinand not only benefits Mahomet Insurance Centre, but the insurance profession as a whole,” said President of the Society of CIC Dr. William Hold.

Ferdinand also carries these high standards into the Mahomet community where she serves as the Treasurer and website manager on the Mahomet Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Ferdinand’s name also seems to end up on all the Chamber event committees.  Whether it is a golf outing, festival, car show, or business expo Ferdinand has a hand in the event preparations.

The Mahomet Insurance Centre plans to bring peace of mind to customers for years to come, since often times their customers become their friends. Clark is reminded why he does business in Mahomet when he walks outside his office and waves at a car passing by and the person in the car “always waves”.
