Courson and Coyne led Bulldog golf at Lake of the Woods

For the third time in four meets this season, junior Zach Courson posted the low score for Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ golf team.

He shot a 42 on Tuesday against Blue Ridge at Lake of the Woods and earned medalist honors by one stroke over teammate Brian Coyne.

The Bulldogs had the five lowest scores for the day. Following Courson and Coyne were C.J. Shoaf (44), Jameson Drinkwalter (45) and Carter Selk (46).

Rounding out the varsity lineup was Erik Christianson (50).

M-S topped Blue Ridge 174-222 to improve to 2-1 for the season in dual meets.

In JV action, the Bulldogs’ leaders were: Blake Harvey (42), Jackson White (44), Ryan Long (45), John Wagner (45), Brogan Hennesy (51) and Jaedon Lager (52).

M-S returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 27) at 4 p.m. at Lake of the Woods against Urbana.
