Champaign’s Annual Prom Dress Giveaway Honors Local Heroes, Unites Community in Acts of Generosity
The much-anticipated dates for the third annual prom dress and attire giveaway have been announced, with the community-driven event poised to bring joy and style to many. Organized by former Champaign County Recorder of Deeds, Mike Ingram, the giveaway has become a beacon of generosity and support within the community, reflecting the spirit of the two women it honors: Tomarra Motley and Jodi Evelsizer.
After the remarkable success of the previous years, which saw nearly 2,000 dresses, hundreds of shoes, dozens of suits and bags, and over 500 pounds of jewelry finding new owners, organizers are optimistic about collecting and redistributing over 1,000 items this year.
