Bulldogs split Apollo Conference matches

Lincoln made a first-half goal stand up on Saturday (Oct. 9) and shut out the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ soccer team for the second time this season, 1-0, in an Apollo Conference match.

M-S is 8-2 in league play, with both losses to the Railsplitters.

M-S (13-7-1) concludes the regular season with three home matches this week, starting with a non-conference matchup on Monday (Oct. 11) against Normal Community.

On Thursday (Oct. 7), Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer team registered its eighth shutout at Mount Zion, blanking the Braves, 5-0.

Anthony Ramirez netted two goals. Clayton Gibson had a goal and an assist.

M-S led, 2-0, at halftime.

Other goal-scorers for the Bulldogs were Logan Alt and Carson Reed.

Teammates with assists were Sam Henrichs, Mitchell McAnally, Titus Payne and Xavier Schmidt.
