Senior Karley Yergler has led the Mahomet-Seymour softball team to a winning start of the 2022 season.
Yergler fired her first no-hitter of the season against Rantoul on April 5, walking one while striking out 13. She was also one of the offensive catalysts, blasting a grand slam home run as well as a run-scoring double.
In 33 innings this spring, Yerger (5-0) has fanned 68 batters, walked nine and permitted two earned runs.
Just a week ago, Yergler pitched a one-hit game, striking out 10 batters in her second seven-inning shutout of the spring. She also paced the offense with a single, triple, home run and four runs batted in.
