The Champaign County Forest Preserve’s Yes to Forests Committee will host a virtual presentation about the Forest Preserves tax referendum on Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. on Facebook.
The group will explain more about the Nov. ballot question, the district’s finances and hy a tax referendum is needed for the upkeep and maintenance of the preserves.
CCFPD is asking for $5.33 per $100,000 of market value of a home. The District has not had a voter-approved tax increase in its 72-year history.
Funds from the referendum will be used for basic operating costs and infrastructure that will ensure our Forest Preserves are available.
