Wright opens Studio Reset 360

Healthy living isn’t only something Valerie Wright teaches, it’s also something she practices on a daily basis.

Founder of Wright Family Products, which provides a natural alternative to commercially produced personal hygiene products, Wright has also decided to follow her passion for yoga as she opens Studio Reset 360 inside Transform Fitness located at 1002 Commercial Drive Suite 5A.

Yoga has been a part of Wright’s life since 2011 when she visited a class in Miami after running a marathon. As she began to incorporate yoga into her daily routine she also worked on her Master’s and Doctorate degree in Nursing, Wright decided to pursue yoga on another level after graduating by visiting Costa Rica for two weeks while she attended “Yoga Teacher Training.”

“After attending the training in Costa Rica I find that I have increased my practice of yoga,” Wright said. “I now have a daily personal practice of yoga that really helps to keep me calm and grounded amidst the chaos of daily life. Yoga is so much more than the physical postures or “asanas” and really helps me to connect spiritually as well. I am able to have focused prayer and meditation time which has been extremely therapeutic.”

Working within the Transform Fitness schedule, Wright will offer both standard flow, “Reset and Flow,” and restorative yoga in individual and group classes.

Reset and Flow is a 60-minute Vinyasa class where yogis are able to begin to connect their body movements with their breath while also increasing flexibility and build strength.  This class is open to all levels of participants.

Wright said her passion lies in restorative yoga where, by finding a balance to a chaotic lifestyle, yogis are able to heal physical and mental symptoms that are stress-related.

“Practicing restorative Yoga is a great help to anyone who is chronically ill, acutely ill, or recovering from some injuries,” Wright said.

It is my hope that individuals who attend a flow or restorative yoga session are able to find calmness and stillness in the body and mind,” she said. “I also hope their takeaway is that yoga is a practice that is available for anyone and can be extremely therapeutic. Finding balance – both in our bodies and our minds is key to healthy living.”

As the Associate Dean of Nursing at Lincoln Land Community College, Wright also offers mid-day yoga classes at the college on Tuesdays for individuals to take over their lunch hour.

I love that I have the privilege of doing two things I love at the same location,” she said. “Nursing and yoga complement each other well and I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to be involved with both.”
