Washington tops Mahomet-Seymour in overtime

Three Bulldogs scored in double figures, but Mahomet-Seymour dropped a two-overtime decision at Washington, 52-47, on Tuesday (Jan. 17).
The teams were tied, 35-35, after regulation.
Dayten Eisenmann and Byron Lynch shared the team-lead in scoring with 11 points. Wyatt Bohm contributed 10 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Trey Peters tossed in six points and also added eight rebounds and two assists.
Finn Randolph collected three rebounds and three assists. Lynch and Carter Selk each dished out two assists.
M-S led, 22-17, at halftime.
“We had more than enough opportunities to win the game in regulation,” M-S coach Ryan Bosch said, “but missed some key free throws and a couple key layups late that could have likely sealed it for us.
“Our kids played so hard and left their hearts on the floor. I couldn’t be prouder of their effort. We are making progress at the right time of year.”
M-S ended 3-for-10 from the free throw line.
M-S (7-10) returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 21) at Chatham Glenwood.
