By Fred Kroner
Isaac Warren tallied a hat trick and Mahomet-Seymour teammate Nolan Wheeler scored twice on Thursday (Sept. 8) as the Bulldogs earned a 6-0 win in boys’ soccer at Charleston.
Nick Tjahjadi also hit a goal.
Contributing assists for M-S were Wheeler and Kai Jones, with two apiece, as well as Warren and Brock Back with one each.
Splitting the goaltending duties for the Bulldogs were Zach Beyer (one save) and Charlie Hawley (two saves).
M-S led, 5-0, at halftime.
“M-S played a dominant road game to move to 2-0 in conference,” Bulldog head coach Jeremy Davis said. “The mids allowed the Bulldogs to control the ball and play the ball around the field.
“Nick Tjahjadi and Kai Jones anchored the play with tight, quick passing, scattering the ball around the field. Kolton Mannin came off the bench and gave the Bulldogs great energy in the mid as well.”
M-S is 6-2-1 overall and returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 13) at Middletown Field against Mattoon.
The M-S junior varsity improved to 5-0 on Thursday with a 6-1 triumph over Warrensburg-Latham.
