Christmas (and Santa Clause) is coming to downtown Mahomet.
In an event that spanned a couple hours, Village Christmas has expanded to offer a nostalgic Christmas experience December 1 through 3.
Visitors can enjoy a festive walk in downtown Mahomet with samplings of holiday treats, carolers, kid’s activities and horse-drawn wagon rides.
Santa is scheduled to arrive at Sangamon Elementary by way of the Cornbelt Fire Department at 6 p.m. on Friday. He will light a downtown Christmas tree at 6:25 p.m.
