The City of Urbana’s beloved Market at the Square launched its 2025 season on Saturday, May 3, marking its 46th year as one of Illinois’ premier farmers markets. The market, now located outdoors in the parking lot at the corner of Illinois and Vine Streets, will be open every Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. through October, rain or shine.
This year’s market features a record 150 vendors, offering a wide array of Illinois-grown produce, plants, flowers, farm products such as meat, eggs, honey, and fresh baked goods. Visitors can also browse handmade local art, crafts, and enjoy a variety of food trucks serving breakfast and lunch favorites.
Vendors at the market accept cash, with many also taking credit, debit, and electronic payments. Shoppers using Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits can utilize their LINK cards at the information tent located in the north row of the market.
To keep the community informed, the market offers “Market Mail,” a weekly email update detailing what’s fresh and featured each week. Interested shoppers can subscribe via the market’s website.
