The Urbana Park District has announced that it will suspend all indoor activities through Dec. 7 with cases of COVID-19 rising throughout East Central Illinois.
Beginning Nov. 16, indoor fitness programs at Phillips Recreation Center and Brookens Gym. indoor lap swim, water exercise classes and swim team at Urbana Indoor Aquatic Center, indoor facility rentals and walk-in traffic at indoor facilities are suspended.
The district plans to re-evaluate the their plans moving forward on Dec. 7.
People are still welcome to visit Urbana Park District parks including the new art works at the Wandell Sculpture Garden. The district encourages people to continue to practice social distancing as they get outdoors in the coming weeks.
Virtual programming, such as the 53rd annual Turkey Trot, will continue as scheduled.
