Travis Hoffman was a double winner on Friday (Feb. 17) for the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ track and field team in a six-school non-scored indoor meet in Mahomet.
Hoffman won the triple jump (37 feet, 2 inches) and the 60-meter intermediate hurdles (9.75 seconds), both of which were season-best performances.
He led a trio of Bulldogs to the finish line in the sprint-hurdles race. Hoffman outstepped runner-up Joshua Franklin (9.77 seconds). Alex O’Brian (10.63 seconds was third). Franklin and O’Brian also had season-best times.
Hoffman also secured a second-place finish in the long jump (18 feet, 8 inches).
Bulldog runners dominated the 800- and 1,600-meter events.
The top three 800 runners were all from M-S in a closely-contested race: Blake Dillman (2:12.03), Ethan Ramirez (2:12.89) and Franklin (2:12.98). Dillman and Franklin posted season-best times.
In the 1,600 meters, Hayden Grotelueschen was the winner (4:57.48), followed by Kaleb Kasper (5:07.27) and Grant Smysor (5:15.83).

The Bulldogs went 1-2-3 in the pole vault. Alex Carpenter was the winner (11 feet, 6 inches), followed by Seth Christensen (10 feet) and Jackson Davis (9 feet). All three cleared their top height of the indoor season.
In the shot put, Bulldogs Robert Byron (44 feet, 11 inches) and Caleb Boykin (42 feet, 1 inch) snagged the top two spots, both hitting season-best marks.
Camden Snodsmith was the high jump runner-up (season-best 5 feet) and O’Brian took third in the 200 meters (season-best 26.38 seconds).
