Nichole Taylor set a new career-best for rebounding on Thursday, but Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball suffered a second one-point Apollo Conference road loss in four days.
The Bulldogs were beaten by Charleston 41-40 despite an 11-point, 19-rebound effort from the 5-foot-7 Taylor.
Charleston led 23-18 at halftime.
Makayla Rosenbery knocked down three three-pointers and also totaled 11 points for M-S. Rosenbery had five rebounds as did teammates Cayla Koerner and Durbin Thomas.
Koerner collected four steals and Taylor handed out a team-high five assists.
A sophomore, Taylor has led the team in rebounding in five straight games. She has three double-doubles for the season.
M-S is 4-3 overall and returns to action tonight at home against St. Joseph-Ogden (7-1).
