Talynn O’Donnell Shines as Mahomet-Seymour Swimmers Set School Record, Place Third at Springfield Invitational

Talynn O’Donnell won an individual event and anchored a school record-setting relay on Saturday (Sept.14) as the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ swimming team took third place in the nine-school Springfield Invitational.
O’Donnell won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:22.48.
She teamed up with Raegan O’Donell, Lainey Howard and Caroline Mills for a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay. Their school-record time of 1:43.05 broke a standard set in 2023 of 1:43.29.
Other second-place finishers for the Bulldogs were Bella Almaroad (diving, 306.40), Raegan O’Donnell (200-yard freestyle in 1:58.89 and 100-yard freestyle in 54.53 seconds) and Talynn O’Donnell (50-yard freestyle in 25.18 seconds).
Karsyn Johnson (100-yard backstroke in 1:03.57) and Callie Lu (100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.15) both claimed third-place finishes.
The 200-yard medley relay unit of Johnson, Lu, Madelyn Logsdon and Mia Saba collected a third-place finish in 2:02.69.
Johnson (100-yard butterfly in 1:03.78) and Mills (500-yard freestyle in 5:42.88) contributed fourth-place finishes. Howard claimed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (58.36 seconds).
