Student brought knife to junior high dance
The Mahomet-Seymour School District notified junior high parents that a knife brought by a student was present at the sixth/ seventh-grade dance Friday night.
In the email, it states, “On Friday, May 4, 2018 MSJH hosted a 6th-7th grade dance from 7-8:30 p.m. It was brought to an administrator’s attention that a student was in possession of a knife. The notification to administration was made at the conclusion of the dance as students were leaving. Upon further review and investigation, it was determined that a student was in possession of a knife. There was no threat to students attending the dance. The Mahomet Police Department was notified of the incident, and appropriate follow up, per the Student/Parent Handbook has occurred.”
