Savannah Orgeron recorded 14 points and three rebounds on Thursday (Jan. 12), but the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team dropped a 42-35 non-conference decision in Springfield to Sacred Heart-Griffin.
M-S led, 9-8, after one quarter, but trailed at halftime, 19-15.
Kylie Waldinger chipped in with eight points and two rebounds. Durbin Thomas wound up with seven points and a team-high five rebounds.
Chloe Pruitt cleared two rebounds and Abby Bunting blocked two shots.
M-S (17-5) returns to action on Tuesday (Jan. 17) at home against Morton.
In the junior varsity game, M-S topped Sacred Heart-Griffin, 41-12.
