Sign-Up to receive Champaign County emergency alerts

Mahomet has a new severe weather siren located on the east side of town on Prairieview Road. The siren is installed and operating.

METCAD911 and Champaign County Emergency Preparedness also provides emergency alerts via text message and email based on your preferences. 

Champaign County residents can sign up here.  

The system is intended to be used for emergency alerts, such as weather alerts, as well as non-emergency incidents that may have significant impacts to residents. Emergency Alerts could be related to specific hazards that require some kind of action be taken such as evacuation, shelter in place, etc. 

The alerts are provided free of charge,  however standard text messaging rates and other charges may apply.

Preferences on types of alerts can be set upon registration.
