Sidewalk Prophets return to Sangamon River Music Festival
The Sangamon River Music Festival Committee is pleased to announce that award winning Christian Music artist, Sidewalk Prophets will return to the main music stage for the 2015 festival this August.
The performance will begin at 11 a.m. on August 29th. Traditionally, the Christian Music Act takes the stage in the afternoon hours, but the Sangamon River Music Festival Committee felt it was necessary to move the Christian Music act up to late morning to keep families out of the mid-day heat.
Sidewalk Prophets performed at the Sangamon River Music Festival in 2012. They were followed by Big Daddy Weave in 2013 and Citizen Way in 2014.
Based out of Nashville, the band has continued to top the Christian Billboard Charts with songs such as “You Love Me Anyway,” “The Words I Would Say” and “You Can Have Me.”
Mahomet will be one stop on their new “Great Big Living Room” tour, which begins at the end of February. The stop in Mahomet will be a welcome one for the group, as bass player, Cal Joslin is a Mahomet native.
WBGL and local churches provide funding for the Sangamon River Music Festival Christian Act.
