In his first indoor meet of the season, Bulldog junior C.J. Shoaf broke the school record in the high jump.
The 6-foot-3 Shoaf sailed 6 feet, 7 ¼ inches in a home meet on Feb. 7. The previous record, set by Jared Bosch, was 6-7.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday with an indoor meet at Illinois Wesleyan University, in Bloomington, starting at 10 a.m.
Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Indoor Track
Mahomet-Seymour senior Mara Pletcher is 2-for-2 this season.
She has participated in two meets and has set two school records.
Both of her marks came in the pole vault.
In her opening meet, at home on Feb. 7, Pletcher cleared 12 feet, 3 ¼ inches to break the standard of 12-3 set by Mary Pat Choules in 2004.
Last Saturday at the Clinton Early Bird Meet, Pletcher went 12-4 to raise the school standard even higher.
Also at Clinton, freshman Grace Rodebaugh cleared 5-2 and finished second in the high jump and sophomore Elizabeth Sims was the runner-up in the 1,600 meters (5:27.54).
Teammate Cece Abramson was fifth in the pole vault and Klein Powell took fifth in the 3,200 meters.
The Bulldogs return to action on March 4 at Mount Zion, which will serve as the Apollo Conference Indoor Meet host on March 7.
