Seniors Anna Lagacy, Olivia McMurry and Kate Raver celebrated their Senior Night meet at Urbana on Wednesday (Oct. 13) by joining Eden Oelze on the winning 200-yard medley relay.
The foursome teamed up for a time of 2 minutes, 8.07 seconds.
McMurry and Raver went first and second, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle. McMurry stopped the clock in 26.61 and Raver touched in 28.67.
In a close battle for team honors, Urbana Uni High accumulated 167 points. M-S was second with 146 points. Urbana (137 points) was third, followed by St. Thomas More (50 points).
Oelze was a two-event individual winner. She captured the 100-yard butterfly in 1:07.08 and led a 1-2 finish in the 200-yard individual medley.
Oelze’s time was 2:31.92. Runner-up Maddy Logsdon was timed in 2:46.26.
Raver and Taylor Easter finished in back-to-back positions in the 100-yard freestyle. Raver was second (1:05.43) and Easter was third (1:10.15).
McMurry was the runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.68) and Kiera McCoy placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (6:53.58).
Two other M-S relays also ended in the second position.
The 200-yard freestyle foursome featured McMurry, Raver, Logsdon and Oelze. Their collective time was 1:51.08.
The 400-yard freestyle relay consisted of Logsdon, McCoy, Easter and Lagacy. Their time was 4:46.44.
Other M-S swimmers in the top three were Easter in the 200-yard freestyle (third in 2:45.71) and Lagacy (third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:27.47).
M-S (9-8) will return to action on Saturday (Oct. 23) at the Lincoln Quadrangular Meet.
