Schulze delivers two no-hitters in Bulldog victories

Addison Schulze followed up a complete-game no-hitter with a complete-game one-hitter on back-to-back days as the Mahomet-Seymour Junior High softball team earned consecutive victories.
Schulze kept Clinton scoreless on Wednesday (Aug. 24) in a 10-0 win at home. On Thursday (Aug. 25), she yielded one hit in a 14-0 triumph at home over Rantoul Eater.
Both games lasted five innings.
For the two games, Schulze struck out 18 batters and walked one.
Makenna Peterka (5-for-7) swatted at least two hits in each game.
Joella Snodsmith tallied five runs in that span and scored at least twice in each contest. Cora Ummel drove in runs in each game, amassing six RBI in the two-game sweep.
Presley Cox and Pfeifer Manuel posted two-hit games against Clinton. Schulze was 2-for-6 in the two games.
On Saturday (Aug. 27), the Bulldogs dropped a doubleheader at LeRoy, 11-2 and 16-1.
Snodsmith, Schulze and Cox had hits in the opener. Snodsmith and Margaret O’Donnell drove in one run apiece. O’Donnell and Manuel scored the runs.
In the second game, Lilly Jones’ second-inning single knocked in Schulze, who had also singled. Manuel had the team’s other hit.
Schulze pitched in the first game and struck out three batters in six innings. Peyton Shelmadine worked the second game and fanned two batters.
