School board approves Johnston as Building Project Manager
The Mahomet-Seymour Board of Education voted unanimously to approve a one-year contract, dating from August 21, 2017 to August 21, 2018, for former Superintendent Rick Johnston as the Building Project Manager for Phase II of Middletown Prairie Elementary.
Within the agreement, Johnston is to work no more than 79 days and will receive $750 a day. The total amount of pay is not to exceed $60,000.
Johnston will not be reimbursed for travel, mileage or lodging associated with the contract. Board President Max McComb also said this is not a “double dipping” pension contract.
Funding for the Building Project Manager comes from the capital project funds.
