The Mahomet Chamber of Commerce and six area businesses are ready to begin the holiday season with warmth and cheer during the 2013 Samplings of the Season on Sun. from 12 to 4 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 each at all banks in Mahomet. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event at all participating businesses.
Mahomet Chamber of Commerce Administrative Director Theresa Berry and Secretary-Treasurer Lyn Ferdinand began Samplings of the Season as a way to give restaurants an opportunity to showcase holiday catering.
Other businesses such as The Glenwood and Mahomet Busey Bank have joined the festivities. Busey Bank will offer pies made by Emily Kroner. The Glenwood will also host desserts.
Returning participants such as Bridle Brook will treat guests to a soup and bread bar. They will also have several Toys for Tots trees decorated in time for the event. Cash and carry holiday shopping through Scentsy, Bag and Bobbles or 31 will also be available. Walk Chiropractic will be available for massages at Bridle Brook.
Subway near Prairieview Road and Doughbelly Subs will have sandwiches available. JT Walkers will serve pulled pork sliders and fruit salad while Main Street Wingery will have wings and appetizers.
The Mahomet IGA Café will serve a spoon roast and dessert. Crown Royal wine will also be available. A Crown Royal representative will also be available to embroider personalized names on their signature bags during the event.
In what Berry described as a progressive dinner, ticket holders will go from business to business throughout the afternoon. Ticket holders who go to all locations will have the opportunity to win $100 cash. The first 100 attendees will receive a “goody bag” filled with holiday surprises.
Bridle Brook has requested guest arrive at 1 p.m. as they serve lunch to residents beforehand.
Sampling of the Seasons helps to raise money for a donation to the Mahomet Helping Hands.
