Rochester ends M-S Soccer season in Sectional Semifinal

The Bulldogs suffered a 4-0 loss at home on Tuesday (June 8) against Rochester in a Class 2A sectional semifinal match.

M-S ends the season with a 15-3 overall record – including a 12-match winning streak – and an unblemished record (10-0) in Apollo Conference matches.

For all matches, M-S outscored its opponents 118-19.

The Bulldogs had six seniors: Maddison Claybrooke, Nyah Biegler, Lydia Gleason, Elise Hertling, Kelsey Jacobs and Delaney Smith.

Thirteen squad members scored goals this spring. The leader was junior Cayla Koerner, whose 45 goals broke the M-S single-season school record.

Teammates with more than one goal were: Nyah Biegler (19), Brea Benson (15), Elise Hertling (13), Lauren Schnepper (9), Grace Lietz (7), Emma Dallas (3) and Delaney Smith (2).

Fifteen squad members registered assists during the season.

The leaders were: Benson (27), Koerner (26), Biegler (16), Schnepper (7), Delaney King (6), Lietz (6), Hertling (5) and Abby Bunting (5).
