Reis Claybrooke Wins Playoff to Claim Medalist Honors, Bulldogs Qualify for Sectional in IHSA Regional Golf Tournament

Senior Reis Claybrooke won medalist honors – in a playoff – on Thursday (Oct. 3) in the IHSA Class 2A boys’ golf regional tournament at Turtle Run, in Danville.
Claybrook fired a 76.
Teammate Kelton Hennesy carded a 77 and tied for third place.
The Bulldogs placed second to Mount Zion in the nine-school event and qualified for the IHSA 12-school Sectional to be held on Monday (Oct. 7) at the University of Illinois, in Savoy.
M-S’ Jackson Bohm matched his season’s best 18-hole score (78) and tied for sixth place.
The Bulldogs’ other regional participants were Carter Henrikson (84), Jacob Schoudel (85) and Cole Thrasher (86).
Mount Zion posted a 310 to win team honors. M-S was the runner-up (315) followed by Monticello (328), which also moved on to the sectional. Williamsville (347) was fourth.
The top three schools from the sectional will advance to the state finals.
