Petitions available for Mahomet Public Library board of trustees
Petitions for candidates interested in filling one of four Mahomet Public Library Board of Trustee seats in the 2021 consolidated election are available.
Four trustee positions, currently held by Brian Paragi, Kristen Streeter, Carrie Heimann, and Kevin Kelsey are up for election. These positions are four-year terms.
Petitions and the 2021 Candidate’s Guide can be downloaded from the Champaign County Clerk’s website.
Qualified candidates must have one-year residency in the library district at the time nomination papers are filed.
A person is not eligible to serve as a library trustee who, at the time of filing nomination papers, is in arrears in the payment of a tax or other indebtedness due to the library district or has been convicted in any court located in the United States of any infamous crime, bribery, perjury, or other felony.
Petitions must be filed with the Mahomet Public Library Secretary from 8:00 a.m. on Dec. 14 through 5:00 p.m. December 21th. The Mahomet Public Library is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mon. through Fri. and 1 to 5 p.m. Sat. and Sunday.
The library board is a non-partisan position.
