Paxson O’Malley scores 35 against GCMS

Paxson O’Malley poured in a season-high 35 points on Monday (Jan. 9) as the eighth-grade Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team dispatched Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, 59-31, at home.
Bryson Tiefenthaler added eight points and Parker Henry totaled six points.
The Bulldogs nailed eight three-point shots, six by O’Malley. Also sinking long-range shots were Colton Arbogast and Ben Ohms.
The eighth-graders have a 14-7 season record.
The seventh-grade Bulldogs moved closer to the 20-win mark by overpowering GCMS, 52-18.
Jackson Golden paced M-S with 14 points, marking the ninth game in a row that he was the team’s top scorer.
Tristen Adams tallied eight points. Notching seven points apiece were Camden Beedy and Konner Fisher.
The seventh-graders have a 19-2 overall record.
The M-S squads will return to action on Thursday (Jan. 12) at Champaign Jefferson.
