Orgeron leads Mahomet-Seymour against Mattoon

Sophomore Savannah Orgeron scored in double figures for the second game in a row, but the Bulldogs dropped an Apollo Conference contest on Thursday (Feb. 4) at Mattoon, 45-38.
Orgeron scored 12 points and hit a three-pointer for the second straight game. She also had five rebounds and a blocked shot.
The other M-S double-digit scorer against the Green Wave was Nichole Taylor, who had 10 points to go with a team-high six rebounds.
Mattoon held an 8-4 lead after one quarter and expanded its margin to 25-18 at halftime.
Cayla Koerner scored seven points, Abigail Bunting had five and Durbin Thomas chipped in with four points for the Bulldogs.
Sydney Esker grabbed four rebounds and Bunting cleared three rebounds.
M-S (0-2) returns to action on Monday (Feb. 8) at Mount Zion.
