Orgeron leads Bulldogs to win over Urbana

Senior Savannah Orgeron scored 20 points on Monday (Nov. 21) to help Mahomet-Seymour continue its unbeaten start to the season.
Orgeron hit three three-point shots and was also 3-for-3 from the free throw line en route to her game-high performance in the Bulldogs’ 62-27 home-opening win over Urbana.
Kylie Waldinger netted 13 points and Chloe Pruitt added 11 points. Alayna DeWitt chipped in with five points.
Pruitt grabbed a team-high four rebounds.
The Bulldogs’ winning streak ended on Tuesday (Nov. 22) when they couldn’t hang onto a halftime lead and were beaten at Metamora, 41-36. M-S led at halftime, 20-16.
Orgeron nailed a team-high 16 points. Durbin Thomas scored six points and Waldinger added five points.
Pruitt, Thomas and Waldinger each handled three rebounds. Orgeron blocked two shots.
M-S (4-1) returns to action on Tuesday (Nov. 29) at home against Bloomington Central Catholic.
The Bulldogs’ junior varsity team improved to 5-0 with a 40-35 win at Metamora. The M-S freshmen are 3-1 after decisioning Lincoln, 36-9.
