OOTD debuts mobile Boutique in Mahomet

What will you wear today?

That’s the question Morgan Wood asks herself as she buys merchandise for her online and mobile women’s clothing store, OOTD Boutique.

“OOTD stands for Outfit of the Day!” Wood said. “Pick out something that you feel good in, and show it off!”

Wood’s dream of providing a trendy, affordable clothing item for every woman of every size became a reality in 2019 when Wood transformed her love for fashion into a business.

“I want to make everyone feel beautiful and confident, and able to purchase items that make them feel that way,” she said. “I purchase inventory constantly to be sure I have the current trends and styles.”

Over the last two years, OOTD inventory has found an audience online with sales driven through a Facebook group.

Wood also found a home at Winderson’s Creations as owner Mary Pettenger offered space at Sangamon on Main.

Pettenger has also helped Wood learn the business side of the boutique business while brand reps Shelby Bell, Melissa Swidergal, and Kelcie O’Neal have helped with everything from photography to styling as Wood built her brand.

“It’s really nice to be surrounded by other women business owners.  We have a great group that supports each other,” she said.

“I think that women should support and build each other up. That’s what I’m here to do through my business.”

Wood’s dream of hosting pop-up events was also realized with the help of friend Nick Cotter, who, alongside his Shop class at Rantoul Township High School, renovated the inside of a trailer to resemble a boutique.

Wood debuted the boutique at Sangamon on Main on July 18.

“Everyone has been so excited to see the mobile boutique,’ she said. “Honestly, I feel so blessed to have the support that I do.”
