Normal University brings record-setting Bulldog season to an end

The winningest volleyball season in Mahomet-Seymour school history ended on Thursday (Oct. 27) one victory shy of a regional title.
The Bulldogs dropped a 21-25, 25-19, 25-19 decision to Normal University High in the finals of the Rantoul IHSA Class 3A regional tournament. The setback ended a 19-match winning streak.
For the year, M-S was 4-2 in three-set matches, with both of the losses coming against U-High.
In her final match of the season, junior Avery Allen posted a double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs.
Senior Maddie Gaede collected 15 assists and senior Libby Bodine contributed 13 digs.
The Bulldogs end the year with an overall record of 32-4. The only losses for M-S in its final 23 matches were to U-High.
