Mahomet-Seymour dropped both games of a junior high girls’ basketball doubleheader at home on Monday (Oct. 31) to Normal Parkside.
The seventh-graders, who trailed 15-8 after three quarters, fell short, 22-20. Courtney Fonte hit all of her team-high eight points in the final quarter. Breckyn Hess scored five points and Payson Steers made four points.
The eighth-graders played the visitors even after falling behind 15-3 entering the second quarter. Parkside posted a 34-22 win. Abi King and Audra Martin each connected for six points for the Bulldogs. Penelope Bird netted five points.
The seventh-graders (15-4) and the eighth-graders (13-6) both return to action at home on Thursday (Nov. 3) against Normal Kingsley.
