Nine Mahomet-Seymour athletes received acknowledgement on the Apollo Conference all-league football teams, voted on by the coaches on Sunday (April 25).
Seven of the honored Bulldogs are underclassmen.
M-S had three athletes selected to the all-conference first team and six others who were accorded second-team status.
Representing the Bulldogs on the first team offensive unit was senior running back Skyler Yancy.
Two teammates were first-team defensive selections: freshman lineman Jack Gallier and sophomore linebacker Nick Golden.
Apollo coaches honored 12 players on offense and 12 on defense with first-team status.
The defensive unit consisted of 10 seniors, along with one sophomore (Golden) and one freshman (Gallier).
The offensive first-team squad consisted of nine seniors and three juniors.
M-S had four of the second-team members selected to the offensive unit, including two junior linemen, Brayden Smith and Tyler Uken. Also recognized on the offensive second unit were senior quarterback Braden Finch and junior receiver Dream Morgan Eagle.
Both of the Bulldogs’ second-teamers on defense played in the secondary: juniors Ethan Grindley and Nolan Nierenhausen.
The 12-player second teams consisted of six seniors and six juniors on defense. On offense, the second-team breakdown was seven seniors, four juniors (three from M-S) and one sophomore.
M-S finished the spring season with a 3-3 overall record and a 3-2 mark against Apollo Conference opponents.
