This summer, the Museum of the Grand Prairie is bringing history to life with its annual Summer Artifact Showcase, launching on June 16, 2025. Hosted at the Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve, the event welcomes visitors of all ages to discover the area’s vibrant history by engaging directly with fascinating artifacts from the museum’s distinctive collection.
Running from mid-June through mid-August, the Summer Artifact Showcase offers a rare opportunity for guests to get up close and personal with fascinating historical items. Visitors can expect to see artifacts, ranging from everyday objects used by early prairie settlers to rare and unusual items that highlight the area’s cultural and natural history.
