MSJHS Volleyball reaches double-figure wins

Both the seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams from Mahomet-Seymour Junior High have reached double figures in wins for the season.
The Bulldogs’ seventh-grade volleyball squad raised its winning streak to four consecutive matches with three recent wins, all in two-set sweeps, before dropping two matches this week.
The Bulldogs dispatched Jefferson in Champaign on Thursday (Jan. 27), 25-11, 25-18, and then won at Prairie Central, 25-18, 25-12 on Monday (Jan. 31) before handling Rantoul Eater at home, 25-13, 25-22, on Tuesday (Feb. 1).
Playing back-to-back matches on the road this week, M-S lost to Champaign Edison, 25-20, 25-16, on Monday (Feb. 7) and to Bloomington George Evans, 25-20, 25-21, on Tuesday (Feb. 8).
The seventh-graders have a 10-4 record.
The eighth-graders sandwiched two wins around a loss last week.
M-S topped Jefferson, 25-5, 25-17, but dropped a 25-22, 25-23 decision at Prairie Central. The team returned home to capture a 25-15, 25-16 win over Rantoul Eater.
This week, the eighth-graders copped a 25-12, 25-8 win at Champaign Edison on Monday (Feb. 7) and suffered a 25-12, 25-23 loss at Bloomington George Evans on Tuesday (Feb. 8).
The eighth-graders have an 11-4 record.
Both teams return to action on Thursday (Feb. 10) at home against Champaign Franklin.
