MSJHS Volleyball on a four-game win streak

Both the seventh- and eighth-grade teams ran their winning streak to four matches in a row on Wednesday (Feb. 10) with two-set sweeps at Champaign Jefferson.
The seventh-graders upended the Jaguars 25-8, 25-20.
Erin Dallas served seven aces and Ava Yeakel landed three aces in the first set. M-S recovered from a 7-4 deficit in the second set to build an 18-11 lead. Olivia DeWitt totaled eight service points in the set and Ava Hewitt added four service aces.
The four-match seventh-grade winning streak came to an end on Saturday (Feb. 13) at home against Monticello.
M-S (4-1) dropped a 25-22, 25-21 decision to the visitors. The second set was tied, 20-20.
The eighth-graders tallied the last six points in the opening set after Jefferson created a 19-19 deadlock on Wednesday (Feb. 10). M-S prevailed 25-19, 25-18.
Alayna Kinney served the last five points, including an ace for set point.
Elle Barker led the Bulldogs in the match with nine kills. Kylie Waldinger had four kills and Addi Eisenmann ended with three kills.
On Saturday (Feb. 13), the eighth-graders continued their winning ways, edging Monticello, 25-16, 25-20 at home. The second set was tied at 18-18 before M-S made a final push.
The eighth-graders have a 5-0 season record.
Eisenmann finished with six kills and three service aces. Barker contributed five kills and six aces. Talia Francom totaled five kills.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday (Feb. 17) at Clinton.
